Lorraine’s experience in product manufacturing began back in 2000 with the launch of a home goods line featuring linen bedding, tablecloths, hand towels, and napkins. The line was sold at the Atlanta Market and was picked up by Neiman Marcus through a rep group.
After working for several years in the commercial design sector, Lorraine saw a need, around 2015, to develop a project-specific upholstery and case goods line. She developed the product prototypes to be used across multiple markets. During this time she gained insights into the needs and preferences of various populations (i.e., seniors vs. students vs. restaurant patrons).
In 2020, Lorraine launched her custom upholstery line, Ellen Ash Collection, after noticing a gap in the market for customizable upholstery for high-end interior designers. Now, designers can order one-of-a-kind pieces that seamlessly integrate with their projects. Her creations are influenced by the modernization of the English Country House style.
